The SHED Tool Library and Makerspace initiative is a local non-profit with the mandate of increasing accessibility to tools for a more resilient community. Sharing tools means less storage is needed in homes, and people don’t need to buy a tool they may only use a few times. Our logo was graciously donated by Sure Copy Courtenay. I adapted it to use Apex Sans (now Apex New), a typeface I had purchased and which I was waiting for a project to use it with. Apex’s strong functional look suited the nature of the tool library. All of the promotional materials and membership forms, including the button templates, are designed to be reproduced inexpensively on black & white laser printers.
